Governor names members to workforce development commission

The office of Gov. Pat McCrory on Wednesday announced the appointment of three members to the N.C. Commission on Workforce Development.

The commission recommends policies enabling the state’s workforce and businesses to compete in the global economy. Each new member is filling a seat on the commission due to a resignation and their terms will run through 2016.

Korey Coon (Wake County) – Coon is human resources director for the Building Construction Products Division of Caterpillar Inc. He received his bachelor’s degree from Illinois Wesleyan University and earned an executive master of business administration from Bradley University. Coon will serve as chairman of the board.

Terry Frank (Carteret County) – Frank is owner of Frank Door Company, a Carteret County Commissioner and serves on the East Carolina Workforce Development Board Consortium. He will fill a seat requiring a business representative.

Ronald Cummings (Chowan County) – Cummings has 21 years of manufacturing experience with production companies and an additional 15 years of technical management experience within the U.S. Navy. He will fill a seat requiring a business representative.
